  12. This software is fully protected by federal copyright law.  This
  13. agreement allows you to copy and use the software for a 60 day trial
  14. period.  After that time, if you continue to use the software,
  15. federal copyright law requires you to register it.  To register, send
  16. $35 (U.S. funds) to Inductive Logic at the address above.

  18. Registration also eliminates the registration reminder text,
  19. guarantees you the newest version of the software, a nicely printed 
  20. manual, and a place on our mailing list to inform you of updates 
  21. and other product information.

  23. Inductive Logic is a member of the Association of Shareware
  24. Professionals (ASP).  ASP wants to make sure that the shareware

  34. Installation
  35. ------------
  36. System Requirements: DOS 3.0 or higher, 256K RAM, hard disk.

  38. This is the freely distributed version of InCommand (though the software is
  39. NOT free; see License Agreement, above).

  41.   To install from an Inductive Logic floppy disk:

  43.     A:    (assuming your drive is A:.  Use your own drive, if not A:)
  44.     INSTALL

  46.   To install from the INCOMAND.EXE self-extracting file:
  47.   ------------------------------------------------------
  48.     If you're reading this file, you've probably already run the self 
  49.     extracting file INCOMAND.EXE.  If so, then you've already done steps 
  50.     1-3 below, so skip to step 4.

  52.     1. Copy INCOMAND.EXE to an empty directory on your hard drive
  53.        (we suggest C:\IL)
  54.     2. CD to that directory
  55.     3. Type INCOMAND (this will extract all the InCommand files)
  56.     4. Type INSTALL (this is required!)

  58. Note that you MUST run INSTALL, as simply putting the IL directory in your
  59. path will NOT work.

  62. Getting Started
  63. ---------------
  64. All of the manual is available on-line with the IHELP command.  Just type
  65. IHELP and follow the directions.  Read the TUTORIAL topic in IHELP for a
  66. fast, simple introduction.

  69. Printing the Manual
  70. -------------------
  71. A complete manual is ready for printing in the file INCOMAND.PRN.  This file
  72. should print on any text-mode printer (e.g., laser, dot matrix).  If your
  73. printer is on the standard printer port, you can print it by typing:

  75.     COPY INCOMAND.PRN PRN

  78. Registration
  79. ------------
  80. To register your software, and receive the latest version and printed
  81. manual, simply print out the REGISTER.TXT file from the IL directory, fill
  82. it out, include your check, and mail it to us.

  107. MOVEDIR
  108. -------
  109. Because of a bug in DOS's FASTOPEN function, if you use FASTOPEN, your 
  110. computer can lock up after using MOVEDIR.  We have never seen a loss of data
  111. from this, but you must reboot to clear the lock up.  Therefore, like other 
  112. utility vendors (including Norton), we recommend that you do NOT use the DOS
  113. FASTOPEN utility.  You can use DOS's SMARTDRV.SYS to provide the speed
  114. benefits of FASTOPEN, and then some, with no risk of locking up.
